Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi was happy with Pule Mmodi's performance after his team blew Chippa United away in a Last 16 Nedbank Cup clash at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.

Abafana Bokuthula Noxolo were too good for the men from Gqeberha, as they walked away from the FNB Stadium with a comfortable and morale boosting 3-0 win.

But, after the game, Nabi reserved special praise for Mmodi, who netted the third goal right at the death.

“Mmodi what he does on the field is incredible, it’s incredible,” the Tunisian tacticial said when speaking to reporters after the game.

“Sometimes maybe you look at one or two opportunities that he has missed, but he’s a winger. His first attribute is to score goals, maybe he should have scored some easy opportunities that he got. But for me, he was the best player on the field," said Nabi.

“He’s a player that works consistently. He’s a player that poses a threat on his direct opponent all the time. Maybe you will see that all the set pieces or free kicks that he got for us. Even when we are defending, he’s a player that tracks back all the time. He works for the team.

“He works incredibly very well for the team, and we need to congratulate him for that, and we believe that he was the best player on the field, and he’s been one of the best players.”

Having booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup, Nabi will now be hoping his team can replicate Saturday's brilliant performance when they welcome struggling SupeSport United to the FNB Stadium for a league encounter on Tuesday evening.
