MTV's “Inside Life” is gearing up for an unmissable season launch with its latest season subtitled, “City Girls Are Up”.
Premièring in February, the new season promises to be an electrifying exploration into the lives of three trailblazing South African artists, amapiano vocalist Boohle, DJ, dancer and actress, Thee Buhle, and singer Bontle Smith.
With their unique styles and indomitable spirits, these females are not just breaking barriers but also redefining the music landscape for the next generation of female creatives.
Viewers can expect to see the music queens turn up the volume on what it means to be women in control, as they navigate the highs and lows of a demanding industry.
From studio sessions to live performances, the series delves deep into the personal stories behind their personas, spotlighting the challenges they face and the triumphs they achieve.
It is the first time ever that Boohle, Thee Buhle and Smith are teaming up on-screen to showcase a powerful narrative that captures the essence of female empowerment, sisterhood and the fearless spirit that fuels them.
“It’s a rare, unfiltered chance to witness the real behind-the-scenes moments of their lives, careers and the hard work that goes into breaking into – and owning – the music scene,” said Monde Twala, senior vice president and general manager at Paramount Africa.
“At MTV, we are committed to elevating African voices and stories, especially those of young women who are spearheading pop culture.”
He added: “‘Inside Life: City Girls Are Up’ celebrates the power of women in music, offering a front-row seat to the journeys of three incredible talents who are shaping the future of entertainment in Africa.”
∎ “Inside Life: City Girls Are Up” will premiere on Saturday, February 22, at 6pm on MTV (DStv channel 130).
