Actor Sello Sebotsane has found himself at the center of controversy once again, this time due to a series of provocative posts on TikTok that have sparked intense public debate.

However, it is his past actions, specifically his abusive relationship with his ex-partner Shoki that have resurfaced and ignited a wave of backlash.

Shoki, who has courageously shared her painful experience of the abuse she endured at Sebotsane's hands, has been vocal about the emotional and physical scars left by their relationship.

In response to the growing backlash, Sebotsane has issued a heartfelt public apology. In a message shared online, the actor took responsibility for his past actions and reflected on the pain he caused his family, specifically his ex-wife, Rishoketswe Mola, and their two daughters, Oratile and Karabo.

“Dumelang, greetings. This is an apology directed to my ex-wife, Rishoketswe Mmola, and my two daughters, Oratile and Karabo. I am deeply sorry for the part that I have played in hurting you,” Sebotsane began, speaking directly to those he feels he has wronged.

His words conveyed a deep sense of remorse as he acknowledged the difficulty in repairing broken relationships.

While Sebotsane admitted that no words could undo the damage, he stressed the importance of taking personal responsibility for his behavior. He further shared his ongoing journey of self-reflection and growth.

“I know words cannot break or mend what is broken,” he said. “I am working on myself, and I am looking forward to working with the young ones to try and stop the scourge of violence, because with violence, we go nowhere. Violence is no answer.”

Sebotsane’s message didn’t just address his immediate family but served as a call to action for society at large. He emphasised that violence is never the solution and urged men, especially young boys, to embrace vulnerability. His appeal was simple yet profound: men must learn to express their feelings and seek support when necessary.

“It is not right. I repeat, it is not right,” he continued. “And as men, young boys, let's learn to let it out. Let's learn to speak. Yes, be vulnerable. Someone somewhere out there will see and understand your pain and make you feel better. And only you can do that for yourself.”

The actor’s apology extended beyond his personal circle. He took a moment to thank his supporters, acknowledging the loyalty of his fans during difficult times. However, he also expressed regret for the disappointment he may have caused, emphasizing his humanity and the importance of owning up to mistakes.

“To the fans, thank you for everything. Thank you for standing with me. And to those I disappointed, I am sorry. I'm only human, and I don't want to justify anything. Wrong is wrong,” Sebotsane stated.

The actor concluded with a final vow to make amends and contribute positively to society, promising to continue his journey toward healing and growth.

“Let’s make things right. Let's make this a better world. And I’ll do it. I’ll do it my way,” he affirmed.
